Hello World! I’m Josh a Computer Science With Games Programming BSc second year student aspiring to get a junior games programming role after graduation. I’ve been programming for 5+ years and have been interested in video games for as long as I can remember.

I have always been an enthusiastic gamer and this has fuelled my ambition to work in this ever-growing industry. Gaming has become a hobby of mine but most importantly it has led me to discover my interest in programming. My drive to learn to program was fuelled by being an avid gamer. My research into the creation of my favourite games led me to my passion for the development of video games.

I was given the opportunity to apply my knowledge of programming and game design when undertaking a large project for my Computer Science A Level that simulated the real practices that companies use when making games. I opted to create a casual turn-based strategy game with the goal of tackling stress in students. My choice of genre was inspired by the Pokémon and Dragon Quest games. The experience of this large project has allowed me to apply real industry methods and development cycles to almost simulate the workplace. The process of creating that solution has given me a priceless insight into the industry and has consolidated my dream of working in this fascinating field. I have learnt that to be successful in this field; practice and experience is key which is why I was very eager to undertake that challenge.

Here on this site you can view this and many more of the projects I’ve undertaken both personally and academically.
